For six decades, KCR has been more than an agency—we’ve been a partner, an advocate, and a neighbor. Our story is one of resilience, growth, and the unwavering belief that when people have the right tools and opportunities, they can succeed.

Our Journey Through the Decades

1960s–1970s:

KCR launched programs to address urgent needs—food, housing, and employment—while laying the foundation for long-term community support.

1980s–1990s:

Services expanded to include early childhood education, energy assistance, and housing stability programs, reaching more families than ever before.

2000s–2010s:

KCR grew into a comprehensive network of resources—connecting residents with job training, small business development, veteran support, and family services.

Today:

KCR continues to innovate, offering over 20 programs that serve more than 10,000 Kitsap residents annually. From early learning to senior support, our work helps every generation thrive.
